Darby Community Action Forum Dec. 16, 2008
Approximately 55 people from the Darby Community met at the school cafateria for our Community Action Forum. Three focus groups of 35 people met for 5 weeks and provided a long list of action items that were condensed down and the folks at the forum chose what they wanted to focus on at the present time. The four actions items that received the most votes were:
1. - Local Newsletter/Paper
2. - Consulting Group Composed of Local Business persons and Retirees.
3. - Food Bank
4. - Parks and Recreation
The next step was to establish action groups. Each group appointed a chairman, vice chairman, and secretary.
The Local Newsletter/Paper Group will meet on January 13, at 7:00 p.m. at the Darby Library.
The Consulting Group will meet on January 21, at the Darby Library. The time was not established. I will post the time when available.
Food Bank will meet January 8th at 6:00 p.m. at the Darby Library.
Parks and Recreation will meet January 13th at 5:00 p.m. at the Darby Library.
The crowd seemed excited about what might come out of this Horizon adventure. My thought is that maybe the Pizza might have brought a few people out - do you think?
